Oh and as preachy as that sounded, I probably would have gone with my fear first as well. But I'm trying to encourage you to go back to your instinct! :) And I hope my friends would do the same for me if I felt I wasn't being true to myself.

Of course not, Marisa. You can always contact her directly and follow up. Or else, this will continue eating at you and when you next meet up with her, you will feel that falseness, and that is the beginning of a wall, one which gets more and more difficult to tear down later in life.

That's the painful part of any relationship, be it friendship, relative, lover, employee, etc. The hard parts are when we disagree. But I know that you know how to disagree with love; you just need to find the strength within you to get over your fear of hurting your friendship, and know that you will come out on the other side stronger for it.

If the friendship falters as a result, it either needs to become stronger through more effort on both your parts, or it needs to fade away. If the friendship continues, it has become stronger and you will have built even more trust between the two of you for being honest.

Whatever path you choose, I wish you courage and the determination to walk your path.
