I'd say you were comfortable with driving in the fog because you were *used* to that bridge.

Don't worry, once you've traveled down this current road enough, you'll get *used* to it, and you won't feel so lost any more.

With faith,
Aas

That bridge used to scare the chit out of me when I used to visit the ex in laws. Of course, I have a fear of heights

This makes me think of a recent conversation w/ a coworker (actually, one of my faves).

She ended up making a really big major real estate purchase (retirement property) she's been wanting to make that would've been a real stretch b/ her & husband's current salaries. Once she did it, she got her promotion. She said it was like the universe was waiting for her to jump before bothering to roll out the net. It put some stuff into perspective for me - how no matter how bad things get, there usually does seem to be not just a path to follow, but a darned good one.

Good luck w/ your trip and continued good luck with writing/grad school. A lot of us have a lot of confidence you'll kick butt and will proudly have a "Marisa" section in our bookcases one day!

Hi Marisa

I left a comment on the philly site. I was just trolling the net looking for Philadelphia blogs.

I recognized the Merchants Exchange Bldg because the company I worked for did some of the environmental cleanup inside that building. There was asbestos and other issues that have been cleaned up.

Like you, I enjoy writing. I recently quit my job and one of the things I am trying to do is see if I can make a living - at least in part - by writing. One venue is a website that I've just now published but is still very much a work in progress. It's called ThePrideofPhiladelphia.com.

I was taken by your obvious affinity for Philadelphia. I share some things in common with you - I don't actually live in the city - I live in the suburbs of Phila- but I love Philadelphia. Like you, my parents and grandparents grew up there. (You can check out a dedication to my Dad in the "Heart of a Cheerful Servant" section if you visit my site.

We'll see how it goes. It's been both fun and draining to do that much writing. I'm a one man show as far as the site goes. I share your feelings about the foggy road...

Congratulations on your site, I think it's great - and I like the way you write...

Sincerely
Glenn McCracken
