Fork You: Kosher Ham

The latest episode of Fork You is up (we’re just churning them out these days) and it’s a good one.  In it we blend the traditions of both Judaism and Christianity to bring you a little bit from the Easter table and a bit more from a Seder spread.  The ham comes first, followed by a apple matzoh kugel (think bread pudding) and charoset (finely cubed apple, chopped almonds, a little honey and lots of spices).

I managed to feed most of these leftovers to the itinerant bluegrass band that wandered through here last weekend, but I kept the charoset for myself, eating it for breakfast for several days.  It traditionally a Passover recipe, but it’s one of those things that’s really good all year round.

  • I have to say, I’m in love with you blog. Since I moved to Philly a few months ago I’ve been keeping an eye out for awesome bloggers from around the area, and yours is certainly giving me lots of ideas.

    I’ll keep reading. Thanks. :)

  • I second that. I too moved to Philly a few months ago, and I’ve been reading local bloggers to try to get more “into” life in Philly. This is definitely my favourite. Thanks Marisa for the excellent blogging! I feel a wonderful affinity for your blog, and hey! our names are only one letter apart. I keep wondering if I might run into you one day, as I seem to live only a few blocks away…

  • Eric and Marina, thanks so much for your nice comments.

Eric, you should come hang out with the rest of the local bloggers at the next meetup (April 21st at 3 pm at the Ten Stone).

Marina, if you ever see me in the neighborhood, feel free to come up and say hi.
