Brunch at home today. Whole grain waffles with real maple syrup or strawberry-lemon jam. Melon (cantaloupe for Scott, watermelon for me). A bit of bacon. Coffee. Sunshine. And a good book. I have a lovely life.

Marisa,
I have just finished reading ALL of the posts here at Apt. 2024. I found your site from a link at your Food in Jars,a terrific blog also. Usually when I pop into a blog I like to go back to the beginning and see how it(the author) started and has evolved. Yours is one of a handful over the years that I have taken the time to go back and read every post.
You have a delightful voice and while I understand that you are now involved with Food in Jars I must say that I have missed “listening” to you, for me, the last few days. I was delighted when you and Scott FINALLY got together but do miss the Fork You videos. The two of you are quite lovely together and Scott is very funny(cute too)
Thank you for several weeks of good reading, I have so enjoyed it. Keep writing, keep canning and keep positive.
All the best for your book and I am sending positive hopes and thoughts your way for your list to come true. I think you would be a wonderful mother.
Sincerely, Candace
Hey Candace, I thought I was the only one. I discovered Apartment 2024 circuitously but just had to read the whole story. I kind of feel exactly like you about the chronicles here. I started reading Blankbaby and then had to find out about Scott’s wife. Then I scoured the archives to see when you two actually got together and was tickled pink to realized they WEREN’T a couple more most of 2007. And yes I was picturing Scott running after Marisa on the street saying ‘when you want to spend the rest of your life together, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”
Oh my gosh, I love that you both took the time to read the whole blog. I know, it’s a little ridiculous how long it took us to get together, though I truly feel like we both needed all the experiences we had as single friends to get us ready to be together. I’m so glad we figured out how to eventually be together, though.
