The roasted vegetable plate at Zavino. Those perfectly peeled tomatoes were ever so slightly pickled.

Eric, Becky, me and Scott, in front of the view you can see from Mt. Tom. It was so gorgeous, clear and beautiful-smelling at the top of that mountain.

Dinner on Becky and Eric’s screened-in porch. Grilled pizza, salad from farmers’ market greens and Pimm’s cups made by Scott. We sat out here for hours, eating and then playing Apples to Apples as the sky got dark.

Morris dancers in Brattleboro, VT. We spent the day wandering around Northampton and Brattleboro, popping in and out of used bookstores, antique stores, co-op grocery stores and restaurants. It was lovely.

Scott, on the first night of our Memorial Day vacation. We stayed at a Hampton Inn in Fishkill, NY. A lovely, comfortable hotel except that the comforter was totally gross. I couldn’t bear to touch it.

Flowers at Logan Circle, photographed after a lovely dinner with a friend at the Belgium Cafe up in Fairmount.

Making limoncello with the last of the Meyer lemons that I’ve had squirreled away since February.

Scott in his new Hawaiian shirt

If you’ve ever met him, it will probably come as no surprised that Scott is a big fan of the Hawaiian shirts made by Tommy Bahama. April through October, he wears them nearly every day. He owns between 35-40 of these shirts and regularly adds to the collection.

The shirt he’s modeling above is a recent addition to his wardrobe and featured a more subdued pattern than he normally chooses (I helped him pick this one out). He’s been blogging his way through the shirt collection over on Blankbaby and it’s been fun to see a different shirt every day.
